Dengue in full swing, tally reaches 140

The number of dengue cases in South Delhi Municipal Corporation [SDMC] area seems to have come down, but the is gradually increasing in North.
As per records of nodal centre for dengue and malaria on Friday, a record 24 cases were reported from Delhi, of which 13 were from NDMC and 7 from SDMC areas. The total count of dengue cases in Delhi has now reached 140, of which three are from neighbouring states.
According to the nodal centre, so far, 137 confirmed cases have been reported from various parts of the city. Among these, 61 have been reported from NDMC areas, 50 from SDMC and 19 from East Delhi Municipal Corporation [EDMC].
Of the 12 zones of the erstwhile MCD, six fall in the jurisdiction of NDMC, four in SDMC and only two in EDMC areas.
‘On Thursday, 24 new suspected dengue patients were admitted in various hospital of Delhi and their blood samples were sent for further examination,’ said Mukesh Yadav, Director, Press and Information of SDMC. Among the 24 cases reported from the three civic bodies, maximum 13 cases came from NDMC, followed by 7 cases from SDMC and 3 from EDMC area.
