Demolition sparks row between AAP and BJP

Aam Aadmi Party and BJP on Friday engaged in a blame game over the demolition of a Piao (drinking water kiosk) at Gurudwara Sis Ganj. The Sikh body – DSGMC; however, alleged conspiracy of the Delhi government in demolishing the facility and vowed to make ‘sacrifices’ to protect it at any cost.

“Despite the fact that the High Court had ordered the North Delhi Municipal Corporation to carry out these demolitions, the name of Delhi government was wrongly and unnecessarily dragged into this issue,” said a statement by AAP.

The Sikh Body — DSGMC, however, provided documents claiming Public Works Department of the Delhi government was the main player in the demolition. 

On Friday, the matter was heard in the Delhi high court where the Delhi government firmly placed its stand that though it has no role in the matter but the Piao (drinking water Kiosk) near the Gurdwara Sis Ganj, which was catering to water demands of large number of people, should be retained there.
