Zimbabwean woman held with drugs worth '35 lakh

NEW DELHI: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) apprehended a Zimbabwean women passenger at IGI airport on Friday, with five kg of drugs worth Rs 35 lakh in the international market.
The woman, identified as Blessing Munetsi, was on her way to to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, before being intercepted by CISF surveillance staff at the airport for random checking.
Her two bags were screened by X-BIS machine, with one bag found to seeming suspicious. The bag was physically checked and found to contain plastic rolls wrapped with decorative ribbons.
The plastic rolls were examined and found to be filled with some white substance. On checking it with a narcotic drug detection kit, the substance tested positive for methaqualone/pseudoephedrine. The said bag was found to contain 40 plastic rolls wrapped with the said substance.
The matter was immediately informed to Narcotics Control Bureau, whose officials confirmed the presence of the drug and arrested the woman from the spot.
