Youth on the run after alleged assault on four-yr-old

New Delhi: A man in his twenties is on the run after he allegedly tried to assault a four-year-old girl in north east Delhi's Seelampur area. Police on Wednesday said that the victim's statement is being recorded in this regard.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Eastern Range) Ravindra Yadav claimed that the minor lives in Seelampur area and the accused stays in the same neighbourhood.

Seeing that her parents were not around, the accused repotedly took the child to a room and tried to physically assault her.

"The child has been provided medical assistance and she is with her parents," saidthe Joint CP.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (North East) Atul Thakur stated that after the statement is recorded, they will decided which sections of the IPC will the case be filed under.

Recently, an 11-year-old girl was sexually assaulted inside the hospital by a sweeper in Rohini district.
