Youth commits suicide by jumping before metro train

Noida: A youth allegedly committed suicide by jumping before a metro train at the Sector 61 metro station of Noida on Tuesday morning. The incident caused panic at the metro line while the metro services on Electronic City to Akshardham stretch were disrupted for nearly half an hour.

According to police, the deceased has been identified as Sanchit Kumar, a private security guard and a resident of sector 44 area of Noida.

Devendra Kumar Singh, Station House Officer of Phase-III police station said that the youth entered the metro station and jumped before the train as it arrived.

"Around 11:30 am, Kumar entered the metro station and waited for the train to arrive. He jumped before the train and died on the spot. Police took the body into custody and sent it for postmortem. As of now we are not clear about why he took such an extreme step," said Singh.
