Young shooter electrocuted in hotel bathroom

New Delhi: A national level shooter allegedly got electrocuted inside the bathroom of a hotel in Southeast Delhi's Prahladpur area on Sunday.

15-year-old Priyanshu had come to participate in North Zone championship competition being organising at Dr. Karni Singh shooting range stadium in Delhi's Tughlakabad.

Victim Priyanshu, a native of Bihar's Navada district, has received nearly 30 medals including gold in shooting range even at national level. Priyanshu was staying along with other colleagues in a hotel in Prahladpur area.

The incident was reportedly took place at around 1 pm in the bathroom of hotel. Police said Priyanshu had gone to take bath in the bathroom of a hotel where he electrocuted with contact of live wire. However the exact cause of death would be ascertained in the autopsy report, the police official said.

Police have sent the body for autopsy and the investigating has been taken-up. Deceased Priyanshu, an student of class-11th- was pursuing his study in Deharadun and was also taking training for shooting range to participate in National level championship in New Delhi.

The victim's family and his coach Amar Singh alleged on the part of negligence of hotel management. The police officials have seized the hotel room and investigation is being done in the case from all possible aspects.
