Young couple found dead on railway track
Greater Noida: The bodies of a young couple were found on the railway track near Ajayabpur Railway Station in Maicha village of Dadri area in Greater Noida, on Wednesday morning. Cops suspect that the couple might have committed suicide while boy's family alleged honour killing.
According to police, Ankit (19) was in a relationship with a girl (15) of his village from past few months. Cops added that both of them lived in Luharli village of Greater Noida and were studying in same school.
As per reports, the girl went missing from her home on Tuesday evening while her family members went on a search. As girl's family was aware of their relationship, they complained police that Ankit might have kidnapped their daughter. However, on Wednesday morning, the bodies of both of them were found at the railway track.
"The body was first spotted by a passerby. Immediately he conveyed the matter to police and a team rushed to the spot. Police identified the victims with the help of locals while their families were informed. The bodies were taken into police custody and sent for postmortem," said Vineet Jaiswal, Superintendent of Police (rural), Gautam Buddh Nagar.
Cops suspected that the couple might have jumped in front of train as their families were against their relationship.
"Prima Facie it appears that the couple might have committed suicide by jumping in front of train. However we are investigating the case to ascertain the actual reason behind their death and are also waiting for autopsy reports," added Jaiswal.
