Wrestling coach held for firing outside MP Hans Raj Hans office
New Delhi: A 51-year-old wrestling coach was arrested for firing outside the office of Lok Sabha MP Hans Raj Hans in Rohini on Monday. The accused was drunk at the time of the incident.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) SD Mishra said that they received a PCR call around 5.44 pm about the incident. The firing took place at sector 7 area of Rohini.
"A person wearing Kesari kurta and white pyjama fired two shots outside the office of MP Hans Raj Hans," said DCP Rohini. The office was locked and no one was inside. According to eye witness accounts, the assailant was in drunk condition. "He came in a blackish grey or black car and started firing. After some time he left," police said.
During the investigation, the assailant has been identified as Rameshwar Pehalwan (51) resident of Bawana. He has been arrested. He works as a wrestling coach at Swami Shraddhanand College. "The weapon is .32 bore and is licensed. A personal grudge appears to be the motive behind the incident. Further investigation is going on," said DCP Rohini.
