Woman's body found on Yamuna Expressway

GREATER NOIDA: The dead body of a 33-year-old unidentified woman was found lying alongside the service lane of Yamuna Expressway in Rabupura area of Greater Noida on Sunday morning.

The incident came to light when a passerby spotted the body lying abandoned in the bushes and alerted police immediately.

Multiple marks of injuries were found on the body. It is suspected that the woman was strangulated to death, said police. They have also not ruled out the possibility of sexual assault, but said that it can be verified only after a medical examination.

"The body has been recovered and sent for post mortem. Efforts have been made to identify the lady and we have released photos of the distinctive tattoo on her left hand which read 'V.K, S.K'. A case of murder has been registered and our investigations are going on," said a cop from Rabupura police station.
