Woman 'regains' memory, helps catch old flame

New Delhi: A man was arrested on October 6 for attacking his 23-year-old girl friend with bricks and sticks on her head in Delhi's Pul Prahladpur area and left her to die on the roof of an under construction building.
The incident took place in June this year. When the cops recovered the injured woman she was immedialtely taken to the hospital and admitted.
She had received multiple head injuries. As the cops could not recognise the woman they waited patiently for her to regain consciousness.
However, the wait was long as the woman regained consciousness after two months. However, when a team of police officers reached her they were shocked to see that the woman had lost her memory.
When Station House Officer of Pul Prahlad Pur Ajay Pratap Singh in South East district visited the girl in the hospital after, she started to speak a little bit, and took some names of the places she was familiar with.
"When I talked to her, I realised that the half of the names she is mentioning are from my hometown and then it took me some hours to understand which village she was from," said the Ajay Pratap, SHO Pul Prahladpur.
The SHO took some names of the landmarks in Kannuaj, and asked the girl to complete them till he was confident that she belongs from village Jamla in Gursaiganj district, Kannauj.
After the girl fully regained her memory, she told the police that she was attacked by her lover Ravi Singh after she asked him to marry her, after which he took her to the roof of one building and assualted from brick and stick.
