Woman nabbed after eight years
New Delhi: The Special Operation Squad of Crime Branch has arrested a woman who was wanted in a cheating case for the last 8 years. Identified as Simmi, resident of Vikaspuri, was carrying the reward of Rs 25000 declared by Delhi Police for information leading to her arrest.
DCP (Crime) Joy Tirkey claimed that Simmi disclosed that in 2009 her gang members hatched a conspiracy to sell vacant plots in the area of Inder Enclave in the jurisdiction of Aman Vihar area. They prepared forged chain of documents of a 50 sq yards vacant plot. She posed as the owner of the plot. The gang sold the plot to one Suresh Kumar. When Suresh Kumar realised that he had been cheated he got a case registered. "Meanwhile, Simmi shifted her residence from Vikas Puri to Uttam Nagar to evade police. She managed to evade arrest up till now," said DCP Tirkey.
