Woman commits suicide by jumping in front of metro train

New Delhi: A 40-year-old woman comes under the wheel of the metro train in Jhandewalan metro station on Monday.

Police identified the deceased with the help of tattoo inscribed on her right hand.

According to police, they received a PCR call was received at 8.50 am at that a Lady has fallen at Jhandewalan Metro Station. On reaching the spot it was found that the woman was dead. "As per enquiry, the lady has committed suicide by jumping off in front of running metro. The body was shifted to the hospital," police said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Metro) Vikram Porwal said that to establish the deceased identity a police team was formed under supervision of SHO Raja Garden Metro. Based on photographs and tattoo mark inscribed on her right hand as "Ram Naresh Pati" the team finally succeeded to establish her identity as Mira Devi. "So far no foul play has come to notice," police said.
