Wife of former IAF wing commander found murdered in Dwarka
New Delhi: Meenu Jain, the 52-year-old wife of a former IAF wing commander Vinod Kumar Jain, was found murdered at her house in Dwarka on Saturday. Vinod Kumar Jain who now works as a commercial pilot with Indigo was in the flight when the murder was reported.
The father of the deceased called her on Friday evening but she did not receive the phone. Thereafter, her father and brother came to see her at her flat in Air Force Naval officers Enclave in Dwarka sector 7 but noticed that the gate of the house was locked from outside. Unable to get the door opened and suspecting something amiss, the duo then entered the house from her neighbour's side. As they entered the house they saw Meenu Jain lying on floor unconscious. They also found that the house was ransacked and some items missing from the house.
Neenu's father HP Garg then called police and rushed the woman to a nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead.
Two mobile phones, some cash and jewellery was found missing from the house, following which a case for murder and robbery has been registered by Delhi Police.
According to Police, the body has been sent for the postmortem and only the post mortem report would ascertain the cause of death.
"No external injury marks have been found on the body. The family has reported some items missing and hence we have registered a case of murder and robbery. The door too was locked from outside. The investigation is taken up by the team and we have already collected the CCTV from the society," said a senior Police officer.
The couple has a son and a daughter. While the son, who works in an MNC in Noida, visits his parents on weekends, the daughter is a doctor in Goa, who is pursuing her MD.
