Wards falling in unauthorised colony areas witnessed a good voter turnout in the Delhi municipal polls, results for which were announced on Wednesday.
From Patparganj to Sangam Vihar, the residents in these areas came out to exercise their franchise in good number.
Regularisation of unauthorised colonies and providing better amenities had been one of the poll planks used by all political parties in the contest, in which the AAP, the BJP and the Congress were key players.
According to the Delhi State Election Commission, the winning candidate in Patparganj, polled 11,312 votes, while the one in Shakarpur got 13,353 votes.
Anand Vihar, where a big number of migrants from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh reside, also saw its winning candidate amassing 12,963 votes.
