Villagers block road in Gurugram after arrests over construction dispute

Gurugram: Commuters using Golf Course Extension road had to face difficulties on Wednesday evening as the road was blocked by the relatives of the people who were arrested by the police.

The arrests were made after it was found that there was construction being undertaken by the villagers in a legally disputed land between the builder and the villagers.

This is not for the first time when such kinds of activities have resulted in extreme consequences. In June this year, hundreds of Ramgarh villagers in Badshahpur area Gurugram had clashed with the Gurugram Police, which resulted in several officers of Gurugram Police sustaining severe injuries.

Similarly in August, a group of villagers from Badshahpur had filed a complaint that the builder was trying to illegally capture their land.

Owing to inadequate compensation most of the projects in the city are stalled.
