Vijender Gupta slams Delhi government over development projects
NEW DELHI: The leader of Opposition in Delhi Legislative Assembly Vijender Gupta has said that Delhi government has stalled development in city during the last four years of its tenure.
He said that there cannot be an uglier joke with the people of Delhi than CM's claim that he has done more development in Delhi during the last four years, then 15 years of previous government.
"Delhi government made a provision of Rs 1,000 crores for the financial year 2018-19 for Mukhyamantri Sadak Yojna, but not even a penny has been spent on this scheme so far. No street or road has been built in Delhi under this scheme when in most of Delhi's residential areas, the condition of streets or roads is going bad to worst. CM should tell if the Union Government or the BJP has created any hurdle to implement the scheme," he said.
Gupta added that the poor condition of the public transport system is not hidden from anyone.
"Contrary to the requirement of 11 thousand buses in Delhi today, the number of buses available in DTC fleet is less than 3,900. Due to the weak public transport system, the people of Delhi are forced to use private vehicles, whose increasing numbers are increasing pollution in Delhi," Vijender Gupta further said.
