Unscheduled power cuts reported from some parts

NEW DELHI: Power outages from an hour to four hours have become a normal phenomenon in the BSES Rajdhani and BSES Yamuna power Limited areas in Delhi. Following Lieutenant-Governor's approval to AAP government's proposal for compensation to consumers owing to unscheduled power cuts in national capital, the Delhi government issued directions, regarding the compensation payment policy but Delhi Electricity Regulatory Authority (DERC) have not yet notified the government orders.
People in Trans-Yamuna Bhajanpura, Maujpur, Seelampur, Laxmi Nagar, Karawal Nagar, Seemapuri, Nand Nagari and South Delhi's Abul Fazal Enclave, Zakir Nagar and Shaheen Bagh are facing major power outages. Shivender Singh from Brahmpuri complained that at least two to three hours power cut started for three days. Similarly, one Zahid Ali expressed his anguished that with the start of rising temperature, power outages added to nightmares in Seelampur areas. Few days back, BSES discoms issued consumers helplines numbers but no one is there to register to complaint.
Ansar Ahmed, a resident of Shaheen Bagh said that there is 4-5 hours unscheduled power cut in our areas. All helplines are defunct and no one is reply to restore of power in localities. In the last week of April, some part of BSES discoms are facing acute power cut and the Reliance-owned discoms spokespersons are not ready to give clarification of power cut .
Delhi government has claimed that a biggest achievement of our government is smooth power supply with minimum load-shedding and unscheduled power cut, in spite of 50 slashed power bill consumers sans any power tariff hike since last three years.
