'Unnao survivor's mishap pre-planned conspiracy'
NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday termed the car accident in which the Unnao rape survivor has seriously injured a "systematic attempt" to eliminate her. This was a "pre-planned conspiracy" and the incident is a "mockery of the law", he said. "Instead of getting justice, the family members are victimized. The government and the country should support the victim and the accused must be punished," Kejriwal, who is also the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief, said.
"Systematic attempts to eliminate the Unnao rape victim and her family appear to be a pre-planned conspiracy & a mockery of rule of law. How can any civilised society allow such state-sponsored barbarism? (sic)," the Delhi chief minister tweeted. Meanwhile, Delhi Commission For Women chief Swati Maliwal on Monday met the Unnao rape survivor at a Lucknow hospital where she has been admitted after a road accident, and said she should be airlifted to Delhi for better treatment as she is "critical".
"I met Unnao rape survivor, her lawyer and doctors. The doctors told me that the victim and the lawyer are critical and have less chances of survival. Doctors believe that they should be airlifted to the best hospital in Delhi. The family also wants this. I am talking to the hospital. We will shoulder the responsibility," Maliwal posted on Twitter.
