Undertrial attacked by three in Bhondsi jail
Gurugram: Safety of the inmates inside Bhondsi jail again raised suspicions after an undertrial was attacked by three prisoners. The prisoner who has been identified as Anil is undergoing a trial in the murder case. According to the complainant, the attack occurred last week on Saturday when the three prisoners Anil, Amit, and Ashok suddenly attacked him without any provocation.
Head constable Ram Kumar Tyagi, who is the investigating officer in the case, said 'personal enmity' may be reason behind the assault. "After the commotion was heard by guards on night duty, the victim was taken to the hospital in the jail complex. His condition is now stable," Tyagi said.
According to the FIR lodged at Bhondsi police station on Saturday, he was left severely injured and was "unable to walk properly" after the attack.
