Two youths killed in separate road accidents
Ghaziabad: Two youths, in their early twenties, were killed after their motorcycle was hit by an unidentified heavy vehicle in two separate incidents of road accident reported from Ghaziabad on Thursday.
In first incident, a Swiggy food delivery boy was crushed to death by a speeding truck at Delhi-Wazirabad road near Lajpat Nagar junction on early Thursday morning.
Cops said that the deceased had been identified as Abhishek Kasana (20), a resident of Bhopura Village in Sahibabad area of Ghaziabad. JK Singh, Station House Officer of Sahibabad police station said that the truck driver fled the spot after incident while police have registered a case under relevant sections of IPC.
"At around 9 am, when Abhishek was going to Arthala Peer for worship, a speeding truck hit his motorcycle from behind while his head was crushed under the wheels. Police reached the spot and found that the victim had died on the spot. The body was sent for postmortem while police have seized the truck. The truck driver had fled the spot leaving truck behind and we are trying to trace the accused with the help of the registration number," said Singh.
Meanwhile, police registered a case under section 279 (Rash driving or riding on a public way) and 304A (Causing death by negligence) of IPC against the unidentified truck driver.
In another similar incident reported in Murdanagar area, a BSc final year student was crushed to death after a speeding truck hit his motorcycle when he was going to his college on Thursday morning.
According to police, the deceased has been identified as Mukesh Tyagi (23), a resident of Muradnagar. Cops said that Tyagi was the only son of his parents and was married just two months ago.
"The incident occurred around 11 am on Thursday near a railway junction in Duhai village. The victim was going to his college when a speeding truck ran over him and he died on the spot. Police have seized the truck while the driver is absconding. A case under relevant sections of IPC has been registered against the accused," said OP Singh, SHO, Muradnagar Police station.
