Two criminals nabbed after encounter
G B Nagar: In a late night encounter, the Gautam Buddh Nagar police nabbed two criminals from sector 39 police station area including a criminal carrying reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head. Cops said that the rewarded criminal was wanted in sensational Rs 65 lakhs loot incident which took place in Jarchha nearly three months ago.
According to police, the arrested accused have been identified as Irshad Saifi, a native of Muzaffarnagar and Armaan, of Bulandshahr district. "The arrest was made by Star-II police team and a team from sector 39 police station from near Amrapali intersection. Irshad carried reward of Rs 1 lakhs on his head and was absconding after the Rs 65 lakhs loot incident," said police officials.
Vineet Jaiswal, Superintendent of police (City), Noida said that the accused were arrested when they had come to commit some crime in Noida.
"Police received a tip-off about the movement of accused around 3:45 am on Tuesday. An intensified checking operation was carried out and police spotted two accused travelling on a motorcycle. When police signalled them to stop, they tried to sped the vehicle and opened fire on police. Police had to retaliate and both the criminals sustained bullet injuries in their leg. They have been admitted to the hospital for treatment," said Jaiswal.
"One of the accused identified as Irshad was wanted in the sensational loot incident which involved Rs 65 lakhs from the staffers of a private company in Jarchha area on May 27. Another accused, Armaan works as his associate and a number of cases including loot, attempt to murder and robbery are also registered against him," the officer added.
Meanwhile in another encounter with Noida police on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, Noida Special Task Force (STF) unit have arrested a wanted criminal after an encounter in Beta-II area of Greater Noida. The accused carried reward of Rs 50, 000 on his head and was wanted in incidents of loot, robbery and murder.
