Two brothers held for snatchings

New Delhi: Delhi Police on Monday said that they have arrested two brothers for their involvement in several cases of snatchings. Police said that the snatched phones were being sold to poor peoples on a very low price. The accused told police that they committed snatching for thrill and fun.

According to police on October 6 both the accused identified as Virpal (21) and Amarjeet (20) were nabbed near Sanjay Jheel. On frisking 11 mobiles phones were got recovered from their possession along with a stolen bike. Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Jasmeet Singh said that with their arrest five cases of snatching and thefts have been worked out with the recovery of case property.

"One motorcycle upon which they used to commit snatching has also been seized. Engine number and chassis number are found to be tempered hence could not be connected," said DCP East. Police said that it was revealed that just for the sake of fun and to earn quick bucks they started committing snatching targeting mobile phones only. Both the accused have no previous criminal record.
