Two arrested for robbing and pickpocketing in separate cases
New Delhi: The PCR unit of Delhi Police arrested two people involved in pickpocketing and robbery cases separately.
In the first case, the PCR unit has arrested a person involved in three cases of robbery. Police said that on November 22, at about 12:10 pm, the PCR mobile patrol van (MPV) staff were patrolling near Baba Park, Divya Jyoti Apartment in sector 18 in Rohini. They noticed a motorcycle parked under suspicious condition. "The staff started verification of the motorcycle and it was found that it was stolen from North Rohini area," police said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (PCR) Sharat Kumar Sinha said that the PCR staff took a strategic position and kept a watch for the person who parked the motorcycle. "After a few minutes, a person came near the motorcycle and started the bike. The MPV staff immediately overpowered the person," said Sinha. The apprehended man was identified as Sandeep (27). He was handed over to the local police station.
Meanwhile, in another case, a pickpocket was nabbed by the PCR unit. According to police, on November 23, PCR staff got information regarding a quarrel in a DTC bus number 165 near Burari flyover.
"On seeing the police, one person from the bus tried to flee who was overpowered by the MPV staff. The apprehended man was identified as Devi Singh. The complainant in the case Fackon Mehto revealed that someone has pickpocketed his wallet in the bus and he has full suspicion over the apprehended man," said DCP Sinha.
On cursory search, wallet of the complainant containing Rs 310 and copy of some documents was recovered from the possession of the apprehended person. The recovered wallet was duly identified by the complainant.
