Twelve test positive in GB Nagar; total stands at 92

GB Nagar: With 12 new positive cases of COVID-19 reported from Gautam Buddh Nagar on Thursday, the total number of patients has hiked to 92, which is the second highest in the state after Agra. Officials said that most of the new cases are related to Ceasefire company, which has emerged as the largest cluster in the district infecting nearly 60 per cent of the total number of persons.

As per the officials of district health department, 12 new cases are reported from five different sectors of Noida, including three cases from already declared hotspots.

"Five members of a family from Eldeco Uthopia society in Sector 93A of Noida were found to be positive. They are linked to the same patient found positive earlier. Four members of a family were found positive in Sector 50 of Noida," said Sunil Dohare, District Surveillance Officer, GB Nagar.

Among the other positive cases reported include a 3-year-old child from Supertech Capetown in Sector 74 of Noida. "The child contracted disease from his father and mother who are undergoing treatment in our facility. Apart from this, a 26-years-old nurse working at our quarantine facility in Sector 39 was found to be positive. She lives in Gamma-I sector of Greater Noida" the officer added.

The officer further said that these 11 cases were tested positive from government lab while a gastroenterologist staying in Sector 20 of Noida was tested by a private lab, where he was found to be positive.
