Traffic police gets new Special Commissioner

New Delhi: Major changes among the senior ranks of Delhi Police took place on Thursday, with some senior IPS officers being transferred.

Taj Hasan, a 1987-batch IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre, will be the new Special Commissioner of Police, Traffic. Earlier, he served as Deputy Director General of Narcotics Control Bureau on deputation.

51-year-old Hasan was earlier handling a key assignment in the Capital as the Special Commissioner (Crime), and also served as the chief spokesperson of Delhi Police.

Meanwhile, RS Krishnia, an IPS officer of the 1989 bathc, has been moved from Special CP, Headquarters and Recruitment, to Special CP, Vigilence and Licensing.

Satish Golcha, an IPS officer of 1992 batch, has been appointed as Special CP, Crime and Economic Offence Wing (EOW). He was earlier as Special CP, Vigilance and EOW.

Sanjay Singh, an IPS officer of 1990 batch, is the new Special CP, Headquarters and Recruitment. He was earlier the Special CP, Armed Police.

Meanwhile, RP Upadhaya, of the 1991 batch, will take over as Special CP, Law and Order, South. The post was vacated after IPS officer P Kamraj retired in May this year. Upadhaya was earlier the Special CP, Crime.
