To facilitate women commuters, 2 Aqua line Metro stations designated as Pink Stations
Noida: In a bid to facilitate women commuters on Aqua metro line, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has designated two stations namely Sector 76 and Pari Chowk Metro Stations as Pink Stations.
Along with this, women commuters will also get free of cost Sanitary pads which will be available across all 21 stations of the Noida-Greater Noida Metro Aqua line corridor.
The new facility was gifted to women on the occasion of international women's day 2020 which was celebrated on Sunday. Ritu Maheshwari, Managing Director, NMRC & CEO, NOIDA Authority graced the ceremony.
As per senior NMRC officials, at these two pink metro stations, women passengers can avail additional facilities like baby feeding room, baby diaper changing room, make up room and selfie point which will ease out the commute for women passengers and will also empower them to manage their daily professional/personal activities in addition to their child care responsibilities. All these facilities are available for all women passengers completely free of cost.
"This year's Women's Day theme is each for equal which gives the message for the need of gender equality in all spheres of life. This new initiative by NMRC attempts to take this message forward and enable Women to strike a perfect work and life balance so that women do not miss out on any opportunities, whether professionally or personally in any field," said Maheshwari while speaking on the occasion.
Besides the facilities available at the Pink Stations, Sanitary Napkin Vending Machines have also been installed at all 21 stations of Aqua Line.
"These machines will dispense the Sanitary Napkins free of cost to anyone who requires. Women do not have to make any payment to use this facility. The tokens to operate this machine will be available at the Customer Care Counters of all stations. These machines have been installed by Mahamna Aradhak Shri Sewa (MASS) an NGO in collaboration with ACE Group (Real Estate development Firm) under their campaign, Nirmalya - Ek Komal Pahal," a senior NMRC officer informed.
