New Delhi: In a move to cater to prisoners' health, Tihar Jail on Tuesday held a multispeciality medical camp at the prison's hospital in Jail number 3. The camp was inaugurated to provide services to needy prisoners, where about 208 inmates received medical help. "Super-specialists and specialists posted in various Delhi government hospitals rendered their services to help the Tihar jail administration in providing treatment to the needy inmates," said a statement from the Tihar Prison.
The camp helped in identification of undetected diseases among seemingly healthy inmates, including tuberculosis and gynecological problems. "Role of yoga in managing and preventing menstrual illness was also stressed," added the statement.
