Three snatchers apprehended from Central Delhi
New Delhi: The PCR unit of Delhi Police on Tuesday said that they have apprehended three juvenile snatchers from Central Delhi area. Police have recovered snatched phone from their possession.
According to police, in the intervening night of November 25-26 at about 3.30am , the PCR mobile patrol van (MPV) staff were performing patrolling duty near Bhuli Bhatiyari Chowk in Karol Bagh.
"When they reached near Karol Bagh metro station, they saw a quarrel between some persons. They reached the spot," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (PCR) Sharat Sinha. He further said that on enquiry it was revealed by the complainant Ankit Mahajan that he along with his friend was returning from a party in a car.
"When he reached near Karol Bagh metro station, he realized he had a flat tyre. He stopped his car and prepared to change the tyre. He also made a call to his family. While he was talking on phone, three persons came on a scooty and snatched his mobile phone," said Sinha.
The complainant chased the alleged person in their car. In an attempt to sped away, the scooty fell down and the alleged snatchers also fell on road. He and his friend caught hold of two but the third managed to escape along with the scooty.
The MPV staff and alerted the other PCR staff. The MPV staff stationed at Paharganj area noticed the suspected scooty near traffic signal and intercepted the offending scooty and also managed to apprehend the alleged person. On enquiry all three suspects were found juvenile. A self PCR call was made by the MPV staff to police control room in this regard. In another case two bootlegers were nabbed by PCR unit.
