Three run over by train in Ashram

New Delhi: Three persons on Tuesday died after they were apparently hit by a train in South East Delhi's Ashram railway tracks. Police claimed that they have found a headphone on the spot but they are investigating whether it was put on by one of the deceased.
According to the police, they have identified one of the deceased named Shankar. He was identified by his company belt that he was wearing.
The incident was reported on Tuesday evening when the police team received a PCR call about the incident. The police claimed that they are investigating as to how they were hit by the train as some sequence is still not clear. The passerby found the bodies lying on the track.
"It is suspected that they were crossing the train when they got hit by a train as they were unable to judge on which track the train was coming," said the police officer.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Railway) Parwaiz Ahmed stated that the police will identify the other two dead bodies as they suspect that all the three men were known to each other. To identify the body Shankar, police checked his belt in which a company name was written. They contacted the employees of the company who later identified him.
In another incident reported from Palam, a woman was hit by the train.
On October 2017, two persons including a girl died after they were hit by a train in outer Delhi's Mundka while they were crossing the railway line whereas in another case a 54-year-old assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of Delhi Police allegedly got killed after getting hit by a train in north Delhi's Sabzi Mandi area.
