Three persons dead in two road mishaps in Gzb, Greater Noida
Ghaziabad: In two separate road accidents in Greater Noida and Ghaziabad, three persons lost their lives on Friday morning.
In the first incident reported from Ghaziabad, two persons died while three others were injured, after a speeding pick-up rammed into their tractor on National Highway-24 around 5 am on Friday.
The tractor was carrying long iron bars, hanging out of its trolly, killing two persons sitting in the front of the pickup truck.
The three injured persons were seated in the back, and are reportedly battling for life in a hospital under the Masuri police station area.
According to a police official, the pick-up truck was travelling to Uttarakhand from Rajasthan along with some laborers.
Police suspect that the driver of the pick-up may have lost control over vehicle, because of drowsiness. However, locals at the scene said that it was because of the sudden brakes applied by the tractor, that the speeding pick-up rammed into the vehicle.
The deceased men have been identified as Ravi Shankar and Ganpati, both natives of Rajasthan.
"We believe that due to drowsiness, the driver may lost control of the vehicle. However, only a detailed investigation would provide complete details," said a police official.
Meanwhile, in Greater Noida, the director of a private company lost his life in a fatal road accident, after a car moving ahead of him suddenly applied brakes and he lost his control over the vehicle, causing him to ram his car into a road divider ahead of him.
Police said the accident occurred at the 130-metre road near Tilapta round about late Thursday night.
"The deceased, identified as Vishvajeet Bhati, was travelling in his car with his three other friends, when a car moving ahead of his car suddenly applied brakes. This made Bhati to lose control over his vehicle.
"The car collided into the divider, killing Bhati, while the others were critically injured and have been admitted to a hospital," a senior police official of Gautam Buddh nagar police said on Friday.
