Three new cases of Covid-19 from Greater Noida within 24 hour
Greater Noida: With three new cases of positive Covid-19 virus reported in past 24 hours, the total number of patients suffering from novel Coronavirus in Gautam Buddh Nagar district has raised to eight now, informed health department officials on Sunday.
"Three new cases of novel corona virus have been reported from two residential societies of Greater Noida. Infected persons and their families are quarantined and they are kept under observation" said Anurag Bhargav, Chief Medical Officer, Gautam Buddh Nagar.
As per district health department, a 31-years-old man, resident of b-block in sector Alpha-I who had recently returned from Dubai has contracted with the virus. "The man was tested on March 18 and was confirmed positive on Saturday evening. He has been admitted to Greater Noida Institute of Medical Science (GIMS)" said a senior health officer.
The health department has also advised his family to remain self isolated for next 14 days and their condition will be timely monitored. Following the case, the district administration has totally sealed all blocks in the sector for sanitisation till Tuesday morning and have advised residents to remain indoors.
Apart from the man, a mother and son duo, residents of a high rise society in sector 2 of Greater Noida were also tested positive with Covid-19. A 37-years-old son and his 62-years-old mother have been found Covid-19 positive. As per a senior health department officer, the son had returned from Denmark on March 9. "His mother first reported symptoms and both were tested and quarantined on March 19. Reports, on Sunday, confirmed positive with novel corona virus. Both are being shifted to isolation in GIMS" the officer added.
Meanwhile the health department has also advised their family to remain self isolated at home. The family includes father, brother and his wife.
