Three new cases in GB Nagar, total rises to 137

GB Nagar: With three more persons tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday, the total number of cases in Gautam Buddh Nagar have rose to 137, said officials.

"One among the three positive cases is a 35-year-old male from parthla village in sector 122 of Noida. Team from health department picked up the suspect from his house in midnight and he was later tested positive. The other two positive cases include two female, aged 52 years and 23 years from JJ colony in sector 8 of Noida," said Dr. Sunil Dohare, district surveillance officer, GB Nagar.

The administration has sealed Parthla village in sector 122 following the new case. Health department has also identified nearly 10-15 people from neighbourhood and they have been screened and kept in isolation. With a positive case being reported from parthla village around ten thousand families living in sector 120, 119, 121 including Amrapali Zodiac, Prateek Laurel, RG residency, Gaur Grandeur, homes 121 and others are under fear as they are being serviced by hundreds of residents living in Parthla village area. They include maid, plumbers, electricians and other maintenance workers.

Meanwhile, two female patients have been cured and discharged from hospitals following their treatment for Covid-19. "The total number of patients getting discharged from the hospital till now are 81 while 56 are still getting treatment. On Wednesday, for female aged 14 years and 37 years were discharged from Sharda hospital," the officer added.

As the number of cases in district are increasing, the administration has also identified more areas as hotspots. Four more areas have been added to the list of hotspots taking the total number to 50. The new areas added to the list include sector 30, Karkala village in sector 80, village Jonchana in Jewar and sector 15 in Noida.

As per the official data, recovery rate in GB Nagar district has remained 59.17

per cent which is still more when compared to other districts or state.
