Three arrested for robbery of Rs 2.7 lakh in East Delhi
New Delhi: Police on Monday claimed that they have arrested three persons who were involved in robbery at gunpoint in East Delhi's Jagatpuri area. The investigators claimed that the accused had shot a person during the crime. Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Pankaj Singh claimed that on September 17, complaint Umesh Bansal stated that two robbers on black colour motorcycle with unknown number robbed his bag containing Rs 2,70,000 at old Arjun Nagar, Jagatpuri, Delhi at the gunpoint.
"During the robbery, they fired at his servant namely Ramsewak, who was with him, on his Scooty. Ramsewak got gunshot injuries in his left leg. The accused persons then fled away on the motorcycle," said the DCP.
During the course of the investigation, footages of several CCTV cameras were scanned, sources were deployed and informers were activated. The investigating agency claimed that the police came to know that part-time driver of complainant namely Indal shared the information of carrying money by the complainant with other accused persons for the purpose of dacoity. During the further course of the investigation, accused Indal and Ravinder were arrested and they disclosed that they committed the offence with the connivance of other accused named Naveen Kasana, Shakil, Prabhot, Anil, Ravinder. During investigation, one more accused identified as Naveen Kasana was also arrested and thoroughly examined by the team.
The Delhi Police claimed that one pistol with five live rounds, one Yamaha bike purchased from robbed money, one bike used in the commission of the crime, Rs 3,30,000 in cash and Rs 20,000 in the account of accused were recovered from the accused persons. The accused Indal (29) works as an e-rickshaw driver whereas Ravinder (28) works as a driver. Naveen Kasana was found previously involved in 18 cases including a MCOCA case in Sadar Bazaar police station.
