Three arrested for carjacking in E Delhi
New Delhi: Delhi Police arrested three students who threw chilli powder on the eyes of a car dealer and flee away with his car in Preet Vihar area of East Delhi.
Police identified the accused as Niraj Rajput (19) a BCA student Abhishek Nagar (20) (BCA student) and Aman Bainsla (19) (BBA 1st year).
Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Jasmeet Singh said that on May 31 at about 3:47 pm, information was received at Preet Vihar police station regarding the robbery of a Scorpio White vehicle.
The complainant, who deals with sale of second-hand cars, reported that three unknown persons came and asked to show any Scorpio vehicle.
"They were shown one Scorpio and they asked for a test drive. All three along with him went for the test drive. When they reached near Durga Mandir, they sprinkled chilli powder in his eyes," added DCP Singh.
They also took away his mobile phone, pushed him out of the vehicle and fled with the car.
Police further added that during the investigation, CCTV footages of different locations have been checked and it was found that they came in a Santro car.
Further ownership of Santro was obtained and accordingly, the team traced one Jai Choudhary.
During the enquiry, Jai Choudhary disclosed that Niraj and Abhishek Nagar had taken his Santro and returned the same after two days.
The team apprehended Abhishek Nagar and as per his instance, another person Niraj and later on Aman was also apprehended.
At their instance, the Scorpio was recovered from the parking of a Mall near Sarai Faridabad. All three are residents of Faridabad.
Investigations also revealed that the gang has just entered into the world of crime and are desperate to make money through it.
