Thieves tail ex-MD of private firm; snatch purse from his vehicle

New Delhi: The former managing director of a private company becomes the latest victim of thieves in South East Delhi's Okhla Industrial area. Police have started the investigation in the case.

According to police, the incident was reported on October 5 when the complainant with his family members was returning from IGI airport terminal via Outer Ring road.

"At Outer Ring road before Chirag Delhi flyover, a motorcycle bumps into the rear of the car," police said quoting complainant statement.

Adding further the complainant told police that the bike rider apologised. Later around 8.15 pm, when they were near C Lal chowk in Okhla. A pillion rider on a motorcycle was waving to them continuously and indicating that something was wrong at the rear of the car. "Both the motorcycle rider and pillion rider were wearing helmets. They turned right at the traffic signal of C Lal chowk. The complainant stopped his car and to check whether if anything was wrong at the rear of the car," police said. After finding that there was nothing wrong at the rear of complainant's car. The driver was about to sit back when an unknown person opened the rear left door of the car and picked up a ladies handbag and fled the spot.

A case has been registered under sections 379 and 34 of IPC. Police said that they are investigating the case.
