Tender allotment: EOW probes cheating case

New Delhi: The Delhi Police Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has started their probe in a cheating case related to allotment of tender which was floated for the construction of the tunnel in Jammu and Kashmir. Police have booked directors of a construction company in the case.

Additional Commissioner of Police (EOW) Suvashis Choudhary told Millennium Post that they have registered a case on the complaint of one Sudhanshu Agarwal.

"It was alleged that Beigh Construction Company (BCC) has forged balanced sheets and completion of the joint venture of complainant and suspects. Based on forged documents, BCC company was awarded a tender from IRCON international," said Additional CP Suvashis Choudhary.

The complainant in the case told the investigating agency that he is a director of a private infrastructure and management company. His company with BCC formed a joint venture.

The said joint venture has been formed to take part in various construction tenders floated across the country.

"In the year 2016, IRCON International Limited had invited tender for the construction of a tunnel in the state of Jammu and Kashmir," police said adding that BCC took part in the bidding process and was allotted the said tender.

Police further added that through RTI, the complainant came to know that suspects had forged and fabricated the balance sheets of BCC and the joint venture of the two companies.

"These forged documents were submitted at the time of the tender process and BCC been allotted the tender on the basis of the forged and the fabricated documents," the complainant told the police.

According to Delhi Police, they have registered a case under sections 406, 420, 468,471 and 120 B of IPC at EOW. "We have started the investigation in the case," police said.
