Teen girl found dead
Noida: An unidentified body of a teenaged girl, aged between 17 and 18 years, was found by the roadside near Kisan Chowk in Phase-3 area of Noida on Thursday morning, said police.
According to police, the body was spotted by few passersby lying near the Hindon Pusta at around 6 am and immediately made a PCR call to police. A police team from Parthla police post reached the spot and the body was taken into custody.
Police said that the identity of the body has not been ascertained till the evening, but the girl looks like to belong to one of the north-east states.
"As the information was conveyed to us, a police team was immediately sent to retrieve the body. Prima facie, it appears that the woman had been murdered earlier and then dumped at the roadside in the wee hours. The victim was wearing a salwar kurta while the dupatta was tied around her neck to give the idea of suicide. The body has been sent for the postmortem, reports of which are awaited," said Amit Kumar Singh, station house officer, Phase 3 police station.
Meanwhile, the police have also not ruled out the possibility of the girl getting sexually assaulted before being murdered as the body was found in a semi naked state at the roadside. However, they have not yet registered a case and are awaiting postmortem results to ascertain the actual facts.
