Technical snag hits Blue line service

New Delhi: Delhi Metro commuters had a tough time on Wednesday as train movement on the Blue Line slowed down during off hours due to a technical glitch. The busy line connects Dwarka Sector 21 to Noida City Centre.
Commuters who were traveling between 12.30pm to 1pm complained that the trains, which take two minutes to go from one station to another, were on very slow pace. The problem occurred in Blue line (Line 3) at Dwarka area due to which train services on the entire corridor were affected for more than an hour during off peak hour.
According to a Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) spokesperson, "Due to signalling issue at interlocking stations of Subhash Nagar and Rajouri Garden of Line-3, train IDs were lost around 12:30 pm for trains falling on this zone, resulting into delays as they were locally controlled," the DMRC official said.
He also added that central control mechanism for these two interlocking stations was restored at 1 pm, and trains are now being regularised as per normal IDs.
