Swimming coach held for raping nursery girl in Gr Noida

Greater Noida: A three-and-a-half-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a swimming coach in a renowned private school in Greater Noida on Thursday, after which police registered an FIR on Friday evening after receiving the complaint and arrested the accused Chandi Das.

Police on Saturday said that Das, a life guard with Delhi Public School, Gama-II sector, Greater Noida, allegedly raped the nursery student inside the school swimming pool.

On Thursday, the nursery students were taken to the pool for their swimming lessons, when the accused raped the girl inside the pool during school hours.

"When the girl came home, she complained of severe lower abdomen pain to her parents. She was immediately taken to a hospital, where doctors confirmed sexual assault," said Manoj Kumar Pant, SHO, Surajpur police station.

Police said that the accused was arrested on Friday night.

The girl managed to tell her parents about the accused and started screaming loudly and pointing at the accused when she was taken to the school to identify the accused.

"The accused has been arrested and an FIR under section 376 of IPC and sections 7 and 8 of the POCSO Act," added Pant.
