Suspended official grilled for 3 hours

New Delhi: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Delhi Police questioned suspended CBSE official regarding the CBSE economics paper leak case. The police claimed that they wanted to know his role in the conspiracy. The police claimed that the person, KS Rana, was in-charge of the exam center from where class-XII CBSE economics question paper was leaked. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Dr G Ram Gopal Naik confirmed the questioning and claimed that he was questioned for three hours regarding his role in the conspiracy.
Police sources claimed that the accused told the investigators that he had nothing to do with the leak but the police officials are not going by his testimony as they are investigating the case from all angles. The accused was earlier summoned by SIT to know his role in the case. The police have busted two modules of CBSE paper leak case. In the first module, three persons including two school teachers were arrested for their involvement in the alleged leak of the Class 12 CBSE economics paper from Outer Delhi area. Rana was questioned as to how the accused was able to get access to the question papers.
In the case, one of the accused Tauqeer had allegedly leaked the economics paper one hour before the exam and he used to get the leaked paper on WhatsApp from two teachers. He sold papers to students for Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,000 and distributed the money among other two teachers. When asked whether there will be more arrests in the case, an investigator claimed that the probe is going on. "After questioning, they have left Rana and in the future, he can be called for questioning if investigation demands," said the police officer.
Two cases were registered in CBSE paper leak case. The first case related to the leak of the economics paper was lodged on March 27 and the other pertaining to the mathematics paper was lodged on March 28, following a complaint by the regional director of the CBSE. The second module was busted after the police team arrested three men from Una in Himachal Pradesh which included the center superintendent of a School in Una. During investigation, it was found that the same group had leaked the maths paper as well.
