Surprise inspection at sector 20 police station in Noida
Noida: Uttar Pradesh Additional Chief Secretary, Avanish Awasthi, on late Saturday night made a surprise inspection of sector 20 police station in Noida to take stock of the nature of crime in the area. During the inspection, the officer directed Gautam Buddh Nagar police to put in more efforts and provide training to cops to deal with the matter of vehicle theft and cyber crime.
The officer also noted that there was a need to deploy more cops at the station. He also sought a report from the SSP over poor infrastructure at the police station and other parameters.
As per a senior police officer, the officer noticed that vehicle theft was becoming a major problem in the residential as well as high rise societies in the area about which residents have been complaining.
The officer also directed the Noida police to send a proposal to Noida authority for parking facilities in the residential
area.
"He checked the cyber crime cases and found that the number of cyber crime have increased which include the data theft in industrial sector and after which he asked the police to make proposal for the cyber training to tackle the problem. The officer also found that only a few cops were present in the police station to maintain the data and asked the police to increase the number for it," senior police officer said.
Awasthi also asked for detailed suggestions on the idea of a special executive court meant specifically for the disposal of e-challans.
Awasthi also checked the sector 20 police station lockup, and other premises and found that seepage, plaster of the wall was not in good condition. Awasthi also spoken about the former SHO of sector 20 named Manoj Panth, who was suspended in the extortion case.
