Sudanese national with 26 kg sandalwood held at IGIA

New Delhi: CISF on Sunday caught a 33-year-old Sudanese national with sandalwood chips weighing about 26 kg at IGI airport. The woman passenger was later handed over to Customs officials for further investigation. According to CISF, on November 17, their surveillance and intelligence staff noticed suspicious activities of a foreign lady passenger in the departure area of terminal-3, IGI Airport.

The foreign lady was later identified as Abeer Alfadil Suliman Hussain. She was going to Riyadh by Saudi Arabian airline flight. On screening, CISF personnel noticed a suspicious image inside her two trolley bags. "On checking of the bags, sandalwood chips weighing about 26 kg (kept in 52 packets - 500 gm each) were detected from her two trolley bags. On physical questioning, neither she replied satisfactorily nor produced any valid document to carry such sandalwood," CISF official said.
