Sub-inspector sent to police line for misbehaving with woman

Ghaziabad: A sub-inspector posted in Kotwali police station of Ghaziabad has been sent to police lines after a video went viral on social media in which the SI was seen misbehaving with a couple and thrashing woman at a busy market in Turab Nagar of Ghaziabad on late Wednesday night.

Ghaziabad police had expressed an apology on their part and initiated an investigation into the matter.

The incident occurred around 1 am on Thursday when police tried to shut mehandi shops which were opened till late night in Turab Nagar market. The policemen had an argument with a woman who was getting her hand decorated at one of the mehandi shops for KarvaChauth.

The policemen started thrashing the man present along with her and tried to force him into police vehicle.
