Student attacked inside school in Shahdara
New Delhi: No lesson was learnt from the incident in which a class-II student was murdered in a private school in Gurugram as in another case which happened in Delhi, a class-XI student was injured after being attacked by a junior following a fight at a government school in Shahdara's Krishna Nagar area, police said on Thursday.
Police claimed that they have arrested the accused. The student sustained injuries in his hands, legs and back.
The incident took place during the prayer when the accused who had brought a knife attacked the student. It created chaos at the spot and other students started running whereas the teacher tried to nab the culprit. The student was attacked four to five times.
A PCR call was made and the victim was rushed to the hospital where his condition was reported to be out of danger. "Necessary legal action is being taken," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Meghna Yadav. The victim lives with his family in Jagatpuri area whereas the accused lives in the Shahdara district. The attack raised a question on the security of children inside the school as the culprit brought the knife in the schoolbag and no one noticed it. "We have not found any proper security there," police said.
A senior officer claimed that the fight between the two students was on a petty issue. One of them used to tease the other which resulted in the crime. A day before the incident, there was a fight between the accused and the victim but the other students who were at the spot controlled the situation and both of them were sent back to their respective classes. The class 10th student wanted to take revenge and he planned the crime. "The case is being investigated," the police said.
