NEW DELHI: AAP leaders voiced concerns over the formation of governing body and urged political parties to not threaten the officials and principals for political agenda.
The Delhi University was functioning without any governing body for last one-and -a-half-years. In the last one-and -a-half-years, the Delhi government has constantly been putting pressure on the university to institute a governing body as soon as possible.
Recently, AAP MLA Sanjeev Jha from Burari said that the university has finally decided to institute a governing body for the colleges. He also mentioned that any developmental work is not at all possible without a governing body in the colleges. Although the decision of the formation of governing body was taken 3 months back the university has not yet started the process as it does not want any AAP member to become its chairman.
"Before the AAP governance in Delhi, any member from the ruling party in Delhi used to be the Chairman of the governing body of the Delhi University but now because it is AAP who wants to work for the people, the university has planned for election to have its new chairman and not only this but they are also putting pressure through the vice chancellor's office so that anyone from AAP should not be the chairman for the university," informed the leader.
