'Spider Man' burglar nabbed from South-East Delhi
New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Tuesday claimed that they have arrested a 20-year-old burglar from South East Delhi. The city police press statement claimed that the burglar –dubbed 'Spider Man' climbed balconies and jumped off houses using parked cars below target house.
The accused was identified as Vagees, a resident of Tughlakabad Extension. The police claimed that on September 24, a burglary incident took place in the area of Tughlakabad Extension where one unknown person entered the house through the balcony.
After hearing some noise, she woke up and cried, "chor chor". On hearing this, the accused immediately jumped from the first floor of the house and ran away.
DCP (South-East) Chinmoy Biswal said that the arrest was made by Govindpuri police from Tughlakabad Extension area. During investigations, CCTVs installed under Nigehbaan Scheme were scrutinised and in one footage the accused was seen entering the house through the balcony and coming out from the balcony by jumping on the roof of a parked car.
Police claimed that the accused further disclosed that he used to commit such crimes to get easy money for his expenses for cigarettes, drugs and liquor. The accused had previously been involved in 14 cases and after coming out of jail, he started stealing mobile phones, wrist watches and other costly items from houses.
