Special Cell nabs criminal from Rohtak, recovers FICN worth Rs 30k

New Delhi: The Special Cell of Delhi Police on Sunday said that they have arrested a trafficker of fake Indian currency notes (FICN) from Rohtak district of Haryana last Thursday.
Police said that the accused was identified as Narendra aka Secretary, who was carrying a cash reward of Rs one lakh for his arrest.
Being a habitual offender, Narender was well acquainted with the investigative work of the police department, said a senior officer.
He had ingeniously evading police after the arrest of his associates.
"However since January this year, a team continuously worked hard and visited Haryana and Rajasthan several times to obtain information about him," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) PS Kushwaha.
Narender was eventually nabbed by the team from Rohtak and FICN worth Rs 30,000, in the denomination of Rs. 2,000, was also found from his personal search.
On enquiry, the accused disclosed to cops that he had disposed off a large part of the FICN consignment, that he was carrying, while on the run.
Police further claimed that the accused had started a chit fund company with his classmate Neelam Kumar However, after the compnay suffered losses, he got involved in criminal activities.
Till date, he is involved in more than 30 cases of robbery, dacoity, Arms Act and FICNs, registered across various police stations in Delhi, Rajasthan and Haryana. In two such cases, he has been convicted.
"During interrogation, the accused disclosed that he used to procure these FICNs, as well as drugs, from Kaliachak area of Malda district in West Bengal from different sources, who used to smuggle these FICNs from Pakistan via Bangladesh border," said an investigator.
