SP youth wing leader, associate held for cheating

Vinod Yadav, general secretary of the youth wing of Samajwadi Party, has been arrested by Delhi Police, along with an associate Sunil Nagar.

Both the accused had been declared 'proclaimed offenders' by the court.

They were wanted in several cases of cheating people on the pretext of providing them with residential flats and plots.

The two had opened an office in DLF Tower A-715 by the name of Vinsun Buildcon Private Limited and Max Balaji Group.

Both the accused were directors of these firms and ran this office between 2011 and 1013.

The accused reportedly lured people with the offer of giving them flats and plots in the project Defence City Project Phase I, II and III in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

"They neither returned the money nor gave the people (they cheated) flats or plots. The complainant in the first case is Arjun Singh, with other 16 persons who were cheated to the tune of Rs 45 lakh by Vinod," said Romil Baniya, DCP South-East.

The senior police official further said: "In a second case, approximately Rs 16 lakh was cheated from three persons by Sunil."
