South MCD carries out anti-encroachment drive

New Delhi: Complying with the instructions of STF, SDMC on Tuesday carried out the anti-encroachment drive at Hukum Chand Marg, Harsukh Marg, Deer park, Jhandu Singh Marg and Green Park Extension in South Zone.
During the drive, nine vehicles and 37 articles have been seized, none temporary structures of taxistands, kabadi and khokhas have been demolished and 27 vehicles have been challaned.
A 4-km road and 100-meter area have been retrieved.
In Central Zone, encroachment removal action was undertaken at Sanwal Nagar and Lajpat Nagar IV- Amar Colony wherein 15 extended tharas and stairs and 10-chappars/tripals have been demolished, 11 rickshaws and 26 items have been seized. Apart from this, 1-km stretch of footpath has been cleared for pedestrians.
Anti-encroachment drive in West Zone has been undertaken from Dwarka More to Uttam Nagar Terminal on both sides of the road. During this action, two gramin sewa vehicles, 35 rehris and 26 articles were seized. An encroachment removal action has been taken from Gurgaon Border to Kapashera red light on Kapashera Road under Najafgarh Zone.
