Snatcher duo nabbed in Defence Colony

New Delhi: After a chase of more than two kilometres, Delhi Police on Thursday managed to catch hold of two criminals near Defence Colony flyover in south Delhi.
During the chase, the pillion rider fell from the motorcycle and sustained injury in his right leg.
Police said that the accused were identified as Rahul Parcha (25) and Zuber Alam (22).
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East) Chinmoy Biswal stated that the accused used to steal motorcycles for the purpose of joy-ride.
They used to affix fake number plates on the bikes, so that they could not get identified during the commission of the crime and to stay away from the grip of the police.
The DCP further said that during interrogation, both the accused disclosed that they used to dispose off gold articles that they used to steal at cheaper prices to one Shyam Jewellers in Trilokpuri area.
The said jeweller is still absconding and police are conducting searches to nab him. The accused even used to sell stolen mobile phones to passersby in Trilokpuri area.
"The accused persons used to keep country made the pistol in loaded condition so that if required they may use it and may fire on police or any person who tried to retaliate," said the DCP.
